Learning to let go and learning to detach yourself from the things that you have does not mean that you cannot have them or that you cannot live with material possessions. It simply means that you should detach yourself from them so that when the time has come to let your belongings go you can do so. If you cannot detach yourself from the things that you have, for your own interest you would be better off not having them in the first place because they may actually prevent you from growing.
There is a simple rule: You need to let go what you have to receive what you require. You need to stop clinging to things; otherwise, those things will slow you down.
So it is important to understand that whatever you have now is because you need it for your growth, whenever you lose it, it is because you don’t need it anymore, you need to let go of it so that you can receive something new. This is how it works; this is a law of nature.
When looking at nature, it can teach you a lot about how we should live our lives. Look at a tree for instance; do you think a tree cries every time it loses it’s leaves? Do you think it is concerned that they will not grow back? Of course not, the tree knows that it has to let go of the leaves so that it can grow new ones, not the same old ones but indeed new ones. It knows that it has to let go of the leaves to grow bigger branches. Furthermore, we all know that the process is needed to feed the ground, the insects on the ground and so on; the circle is a natural process that we should all acknowledge.
So if you lose your job, do not be mad, just let go of it, no matter how hard it may be to believe this, you don’t need it anymore! It means that another opportunity is just around the corner. You just need to be ready to receive it, do not miss this opportunity by making the mistake of focusing on something you no longer need. You have to learn to let go of the old in order to receive the new.
